Please excuse the late preggy update and the no effort hair. This was the only photo Rob took of me that was half decent. The truth is I've been feeling totally burnt out these last few weeks and haven't been sleeping so well. I've also had a nasty chest infection which has only just started to get better. This last stretch of pregnancy is much harder than I was expecting but I know it's all gonna be worth it when I hold my baby girl for the first time.
| Our baby girl at 33 weeks gestation!! |
How far along? 34 weeks and 3 days.
Total weight gain: I haven't had a chance to weigh myself this past week but I feel like my bump is getting a bigger everyday. I'm feeling VERY pregnant and have even got the waddle going on.
Maternity clothes: No new ones.
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Wish I could say that i'm sleeping better but i'm not. As I mentioned I've had a horrible chest infection and really bad cough. Rob even had to spend a few nights on the couch because my cough was keeping him up too. To top it off our baby girl is so active late at night and some of her movements are getting quite painful. It's almost impossible now to get comfortable and I can't stay in one position for very long cause of the pressure on my ribs from my belly. My gynecologist said that our baby girls head is already engaged which I am so happy about but it's putting sooo much pressure on my bladder. I feeling like such a whinger is this post but I much prefer it when bloggers are honest rather than sugar coating everything.
Best moment this week: I do my updates once every 2 weeks so the best moment last week was definitely my 33 week gynecologist appointment. It was very comforting to be reassured that everything is 100% on track with our baby girl.
The best moment this week was the amazing meal my talented husband cooked for me. (fillet steak with roast veges and gravy)
Miss anything? Sleep!
Movement: Lots of strong movement and sometimes it's quite painful.
Food cravings: I'm still craving oranges and strawberry yogurt. My new craving is blueberry gluten free pancakes.
Anything making you queasy or sick? no
Gender: Girl!
Labor signs: Lots of strong braxton hicks which I have mistaken a few times for early labor.
Symptoms:
Trouble sleeping
Fatigue
Rib pain
Pressure on bladder
Shortness of breath
Heart burn
Mild back pain
Feeling emotional
Belly button in or out? Still half in half out. I am so surprised it hasn't popped yet.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Am still feeling really emotional and definitively know it's related to my pregnancy hormones. I'm also a little moody due to the lack of sleep. Thank goodness Robs taking it all like a champ.
Looking forward to: Attending an English speaking birthing class in a few weeks with my new American friend who's also pregnant.

I'm sorry you're not sleeping well, but it's so good to hear baby girl is doing well & is healthy! When is your due date? Is it close to Christmas??
Cutest bump ever!
Such a sweet update post! Your baby girl is going to love looking back on these! You are going to love your birthing class you will learn so much. Do you know what birthing method you guys are going with? Also, you guys seem to get a lot more ultrasounds over there. How many have you had during the length of your pregnancy? I had 4 which is double what most women have in the US, my last one was at 29 weeks so I'm so anxious to see what this little guy looks like! Hopefully he comes sometime this week.
xx
Dearest Lou
I'm getting so excited to see your little man, he's gonna be sooo gorgeous! Hopefully he arrives really soon!! I've been thinking of you so much. Am not totally sure about what birthing method we will go for but I actually have a meeting with my midwife today to discuss it. Yes we get so many ultrasounds here in Germany for some reason but i'm not complaining. I've already had 6 and 5 of them have been 4D! Thank goodness they are covered by health insurance as I know they can get expensive.
Good luck for your exciting journey ahead!! xxxx
You look spectacular!!
Your baby looks so beautiful already.
you still look amazing though!
and i know exactly how you are feeling i found the last bit of the pregnancy tough but it is so worth it and it isn't much longer now.
and that ultrasound photo is adorable--i never got to have a 4D one and only got two scans one at 12 weeks and another at 20, so we didn't really know what our baby would look like.
Oh I'm feeling so whiny with my updates as well... but seriously! The pain, lack of sleep, and discomfort is what my life is right now. There's just no way around it. But you look truly amazing and I can't wait to "meet" your sweet baby! We are SO CLOSE!
I am sorry to hear you are not sleeping well!
make sure you try to sleep as much as you can in the hospital if you are getting the epidural (it will be the best sleep ever, even though you are excited!)
hope you feel better! you are looking great, and are so so SO close!
Lucky you! I got stretch marks around week 32 and I cried my eyes out.:( Hubby tried to console me by showing me "before" and "after" pics of women who used Contractcubex. Haha
